I’m incredibly thankful for the life-changing opportunities that technology sales have provided me. Back in 2006, at 26 years old, I started my career, having never made more than $18,000 in a year. My first ‘training’ was reading the mail catalog in PC Mall’s lobby before my interview.

 

I began as an account executive with nothing but a cubicle, a phone, 0 customers, 0 processes, and no understanding of B2B business development. Those first few years were painful and exhausting, but I was determined to succeed. For me, that meant making over 100,000 cold calls, failing repeatedly, and learning through trial and error. Starting at zero forced me to figure out every approach and process by discovering what didn’t work—and experimenting until I found what did.

 

Over the years, I built a career that has generated over $150 million in sales and led to my role as Senior VP of Enterprise Sales at one of America’s leading tech companies. 

 

People have often asked me, ‘How do you know so much on calls with customers?’ My answer is simple: every painful lesson taught me what I didn’t know, and I only want to make a mistake once.
